At Les Quennevais School, Design and Technology is taught to all students at Key Stage 3. The work includes designing and making, graphics, problem solving, systems and technical communication. Students will study in these areas for 1 hour per week. In addition to the above all students study Food Technology for an additional I hour per week as part of our Design and Technology Curriculum.

 

GCSE Graphic Products


Students will be designing and making products in a range of compliant materials such as paper board and light plastic sheet or film. The work includes model making, Computer Aided Design through work in Adobe Photoshop and Techsoft 2D Design Tools. Central to our design activity is the study of branding and corporate identity where students look at the commercial opportunities offered by this valuable and interesting subject. Students will design a range of products leading to a coursework project where students can study an aspect of the Graphics industry in some considerable depth.
