Dance

Dance is an inspiring and dynamic option for Year 10 and Year 11 students. The course combines practical and theoretical study, with a strong focus on developing the skills needed to succeed as a practitioner in today’s dance industry.

Following the AQA specification, the Dance curriculum is designed to shape students into confident performers and imaginative choreographers, while also strengthening their ability to analyse and appreciate professional works. Students explore a range of choreographic techniques and study pieces from six leading companies in the contemporary dance world, including Rambert and Stopgap.

Throughout the course, students have opportunities to perform at the Jersey Eisteddfod, participate in workshops with visiting professional companies, attend live performances, and showcase their own work at school events.
