drama
Drama is a vibrant and flourishing part of our curriculum. All KS3 students enjoy a dedicated Drama lesson each week, where they develop a broad range of performance and collaborative skills. Working creatively in groups encourages students to step outside their comfort zones and helps them build the confidence, communication, and leadership qualities essential for strong performers.
Our curriculum spans a rich variety of units, from exploring scripted drama to experimenting with Melodrama and Physical Theatre. These foundations prepare students for the BTEC Performing Arts course at in Year 10 and Year 11, a highly respected qualification that equips them with the practical skills and professional insight needed to succeed in the industry, as well as to progress to A-Level Performing Arts and further study beyond.
Beyond the classroom, we offer numerous opportunities to experience live theatre and take part in our annual productions, most recently of Guys and Dolls and High School Musical. Students can also compete in our highly anticipated House Drama competition—an event that is consistently popular and fiercely contested.
