Intent - Creative Media offers students an in-depth exploration of the dynamic world of media, from film and digital content to traditional print. Alongside developing creative and analytical skills, learners gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite. The course is designed around real-world, vocational scenarios, equipping students with the practical knowledge and confidence to thrive in media-related careers.
Year 10
During the first term of year 10 students complete their first piece of coursework in which students investigate film, magazine and website design. They will be able to apply a wide range of media theory and identify target audiences for a wide range of products.
In the second term students design and create their own front cover and double page using the Adobe Suite of software and applying the media theory gained in the previous term.
In the final term of year 10 students complete non assessed work learning shoot and edit video footage.
Year 11
In year 11 students undertake their final piece of coursework which involves them creating a magazine similar to that of year 10, but with a more detailed design brief aimed to replicate the kind of work undertaken in the workplace. Their are no formal exams, however the final piece of coursework is undertaken in exam conditions.
