The Canteen  

Flourish by Caring Cooks of Jersey have now been providing a food service to Les Quennevais students for over five years. Breakfast, break and a lunch service are offered, based on a three-week rotating hot meal provision. A range of special event days are held to celebrate key dates such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Remembrance. We are fortunate that Flourish are able to support whole school events such as the famous Les Quennevais tea parties and retro sports day. 

Flourish was launched back in 2019 to provide a hot meal service to primary schools and has been highly successful. Since September 2020, Flourish have also been providing food in secondary schools, as we truly believe that good nutrition is a key to facilitating effective learning and development. Providing healthier choices in schools can help students to achieve a successful future, full of possibilities. 

The team at Flourish include experienced chefs who, in collaboration with the catering team, designs each meal, ensuring it is balanced, nutritious and delicious. The hot lunch menu is rotated on a three-week basis to ensure the students always have a wide variety available to them. The meals are always prepared freshly daily and meet all food safety standards. 

Les Quennevais operates a strict “no fizzy drinks” policy and the baked items are homemade and balanced. Chocolate, deep fried crisps or other processed items are not sold. 

Connies 

Connies our snack bar sells cold food and a range of sandwiches, fruit and other snacks. Connies  named by the students in memory Constance Brown an islander who risked her life running from her café at St Brelade, into the sea to save lives. Over the course of 40 years of voluntary lifesaving Connie rescued about 22 people from the sea. Connie was also a campaigner for beach safety and a founder of the Jersey Lifeguard Association.  

Cost 

The menu provides the cost of all food items. Hot meals are set at £3.50 each, or £4.20 for a meal deal to include a drink and dessert. Other snack items are priced individually.
